Introducing myself and my journal: Voices for Change

About Me:
Hi, I'm Karly. I am a youth educator for a Domestic Violence Resource Center in Portland, Maine, and am committed to educating youth about the epidemic of violence against young women that occurs in 1 out of 3 teen relationships, and helping to promote awareness to encourage and empower change. I firmly believe that all transformation begins with education and awareness, and that through helping to educate our youth about a problem that is vastly ignored, we can inspire actual change. Before my work here I was an English as a Second Language teacher in the Boston area and worked with Middle and High School youth from many different countries.

My hope here is to connect to others who are passionate about this work and to share stories and learn more about how this same problem effects others across the globe. I believe that we can all be united through our shared experiences and help to create worldwide awareness together!
