WOMEN AND SECURITTY

oaks leaves
amulet for power

I WAS ATTACKED the last three months a few times by men just because of my thinking and my ideas - I am urgent defender of womens rights and I act in my life more as a  man rather than a woman. THIS BEHAVOUR probably get men angry, just because they want and expect women to be servile, not that strong and sincere. I THINK THAT men around me are even afraid of me and I am dangerous for them, because I am a rebellion for them, I show that women have rights and men are not dominant and superior - thus I provoke their power and ythat is the only explanation for their cruel attitude towards me - in fact I have problems with this my way of thinking in the past as well. I WAS TORTURED, put in jail just for the same reason though I was magistrate - now I cannot work in this field, but no one can change my ideals and my activity on the global scale.

SECURITY FOR ME is linked with money, with financial security, but not that coming from a husband, or a lover. I was ten years old when my dad died and this fact caused me a dep trauma - I am not married and probably I will not marry though I was and I am still pretty woman.

I rely on me, on my job - in fact as I pointed above I am deprived of the chance to work as a lawyer or a judge in my place and that is why I want to use this post and my voice to be included in the competition.

Hi Katrin,
First of all you are most welcome to World Pulse, we are all very glad to welcome you. You have chose the right place to let your voice be heard, Here is the platform were we all share our stories, some like yours and others otherwise.
Its so sad to hear what you underwent, sadly not having a father to comfort at the time of the abuses.
Personally for me I never like the idea of retaliating in violence. For me is a sign of weakness, I believe in dialogue.
Can you reach out to any legal rights organizations? And if you have, what was the outcome?

Hope to hear more from you and thanks for sharing your story.

Greeting s
Lisbeth

Dear Katrin,

Welcome to World Pulse.

Thank you for your story and strong voice. I am sorry about what you went through but glad it didn't break you. Only weak men fear strong women and feel threatened by them.

I hope you can get back to practice law again.
Courage as you fight on to make your voice be heard.
Hugs,
Arrey

Hi Katrin,

You have been treated so badly simply for standing up for changes that are so long overdue. These words stood out for me: "I act in my life more as a man rather than a woman. This behaviour probably get men angry". The roles we are expected to stay within have been pressed upon us to keep things as they are...with men in control. The accusation that when we speak out with a strong voice, and/or question the roles we have been dictated, we are accused of not being proper "women". Stay strong dear sister and don't let these accusations stop you. I am sorry to read that you cannot work as a magistrate. Welcome to WorldPulse where we welcome and celebrate women being strong and questioning rules and roles.

Dear Katrain, I very sorry about your experiences and the abuses you faced from men around you. Definitely, I believe no should not change your ideals except you. I believe, both women and men are equally dignified human beings. Men should not exercise power over women and either way is true. Men are not enemies of women, rather we as men should be true brothers, supporters and partners of women. Even though we are different by sex one is nothing without the other. Therefore, I request to change your perceptions towards men. I understand that you were abused by some men in the past and currently. These men are not representative of all men in the world. There are several responsible and balanced men- in their relationship with women. There are several men who are advocates of women’s right equally to the women like you. I am man but I advocates of women’s humans right the grass root community I work in solidarity here in Ethiopia, East Africa.

Dear Katrin,

Thank you for your powerful voice and honest expression on such an important and globally relevant subject of women and security, not just their own but security of the earth, the human race, innocent children, everyone. Incidentally, women too need security from attack and persecution because as we are becoming more aware of our rights to equality, the age old patriarchal pillars of our society are rattling and a reaction like the one you faced in your professional and personal life is the outcome. When you experience such big and unavoidable signs, please know you have caused a stir, a ripple in the dormant universe which was so blind to women's rights. Keep walking, you are on the right path.

Much love from India
