Finals of the first edition of the under 20 Peace Cup .

We are in  a world where crisis, famine, natural disasters and what have you are making news daily. The obvious question that comes to mind is, what  is the future for  world Peace? The simple truth is that  there is hope. Yes hope if you and I take responsibility of our actions. As for me, I am so positive about the future especially when it comes to peace. It is for this reason that sustaining peace foundation organized a peace football tournament for Young people below 20 in Garoua to educate them on peace building. 

The start of each game was marked by a talk on Peace building. For the three months of the competition, many young people got to understand that peace building was their responsibility too. Why wait for others when you can already  start initiating peaceful activities at your level. Remember peace is possible and starts with you which was the theme of our tournament. 

The team in red won the prize for the most peaceful team. Why? Because there was a day their opponents came one hour late into the normal playing time when the referee had already declared them winners cause the other team was absent. They finally came late an insisted they had a genuine reason for coming late though was out of the rules of the game. Since it was a peace cup, the team in red accepted to play for the sake of Peace. The good news is that they still won that day. 

Empowerment remains the way to peace.
