I'm excited to share with you that you can now pre-order my novel, Haifa Fragments, from the website of my publisher, Spinifex Press. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the friends that have supported me throughout the writing and editing process. My parents and daughter for putting up with me.

Special thanks of course to Susan Hawthorne, director of Spinifex Press, for giving me this invaluable opportunity to publish my work. And of course, Bernadette Green, my editor, who was simultaneously professional and gentle with my text. I feel thankful for having completed this journey. Although it was tougher than I imagined at times, I cherish each moment of it.

Abstract of the novel with some reviews:

Jewellery designer Maisoon wants an ordinary extraordinary life, which isn’t easy for a tradition-defying, peace-activist, Palestinian citizen of Israel who refuses to be crushed by the feeling of being an unwelcome guest in the land of her ancestors. Frustrated by the apathy of her boyfriend Ziyad and her father Majid—who want her to get on with her life and forget those in the Occupied Territories—she lashes out, only to discover that her father is not the man she thought he was.

Raised a Christian, in a relationship with a Muslim man and enamoured with a Palestinian woman from the Occupied Territories, Maisoon must determine her own path.

"khulud khamis unpacks the multiple layers of culture, religion, sexuality, politics, feminism and nationalism in the hope of gathering the fragmented pieces of the past and reclaiming the lost contiguity of being Palestinian." Samah Sabawi, Palestinian playwright and commentator

"khulud gives us a chance to live beyond ourselves, to say exiled words so our very lips form new possibilities … A most important work, one that will change every reader." Joan Nestle, author of A Restricted Country

"A beautiful story of intertwined cultures and relationships with the rhythm of hope, mixed with the creative drive for life, justice, meaning and love." Alex Nissen, feminist peace activist

"khulud khamis has the rare gift of speaking directly to a reader’s soul: her language is lyrical and wise." Sharon Olinka, author of The Good City

Congrats for the efforts of putting up a facade of reality in your forthcoming book. The backdrop gives an overview of your thoughts as well for an universal identity as in humanity.

Hello, My World Pulse Sister.

In doing a search on WP, filtered for the term “religion,” I have come upon this post.

I am honored to be an ambassador to the 2015 Parliament of the World’s Religions to be held in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA in October.  As an ambassador, I am tasked with listening to the voices of others regarding religion and spiritual beliefs and practices, and taking these voices to the 80 countries and 10,000 people represented at the convocation.  The purpose of the event, held every five years, is to create harmony among the many spiritual songs sung on our shared earth.

I firmly believe that this group needs to hear from our World Pulse community which includes voices and spiritual beliefs from 180 countries. Please review the attached links and help me to know how we can create a choir of World Pulse voices at the next parliament.
