Left behind

Technology for all
When Technology starts working for marginalized communities, then it will be for all! For now, it's for the privileged few.

When technology took off, it somehow forgot that we too exist and left us behind.

Us, who cannot afford it

Us, who have never heard of it

Us, who cannot access it

Always on the short end of the stick

Always on the losing team.

How much for my liver?

How much for my kidney?

Too poor for a bond

Too poor for a dollar

How on earth will i reach your hand?

Out of reach and yet so near

Heads bow down for you as if in prayer

A kowtow and wai for each second it demands

Good or bad, we want you

But youleft us behind

Not a bother, not a care

Hi there Kilio. Thanks for sharing your poignant poem on technology. Are you a strong advocate for STEM, then?

Thanks so much. They knew that its only technology that can bring the rich and poor on the same platform.

I am grateful that we have access to it. The world is now at our reach.

Thanks Kilio for such a beautiful  poem that sends the message home.  Indeed the world is at our finger tips and yet so far for many who cannot afford a smart phone or internet bundles.  We need to find solutions for bridging this gap so we are all on one global platform.

Stay blessed my dear sister and thank you so much for sharing your poem with us.
