My Story Awardees Announced!

To everyone who submitted writing to My Story: Wow! Our editorial selection team was overwhelmed yet again by the beauty and sincerity of the stories you shared. You wrote about the hands that touched your lives, and these hands have in turn touched ours. The call for submissions on the topic of “holding hands” opened up the floodgates and reminded us how many powerful voices there are in this community. Thank you for telling your stories. We hope you will continue to share your truth and submit writing through your PulseWire journal!

Special congratulations go to amal elsheikh, Estella, and agerber whose entries stood out as gems among an incredible pool of stories, and who will each receive a $100 dollar honorarium and publication in the Fall 2010 edition of World Pulse Magazine.

You can read their stories here:

amal elsheikh: Four Small Hands in Front of the Wind
Estella: Papu’s Crooked Hand
agerber: Two Women. Two Rocks.

Closer to the publication date, we will be announcing several additional entries that will also be published in Fall edition of the magazine. We hope everyone gets a chance to read some of the stories that were submitted to see what our editorial selection panel got to see: A diversity of experiences and voices weaving together across continents into a truly inspiring vision of the women who make up this community.

We encourage everyone who submitted a story this time around to consider submitting again in the future. My Story is a regular offering in our bi-annual print magazine. The next magazine will be released in the spring of 2011 and we will be announcing submission guidelines this winter.

For more opportunities to be published, visit the Editor's Desk, our new group on PulseWire! Our editorial team will keep this group updated with calls for submissions and other ways for you to contribute to our print and online magazine.

In gratitude,

The World Pulse Editorial Team
