The Miracle Seeker

It is not a lie; I am constantly in search of miracles. I realise that the potential for magic and miracles is all around us and my search for them has led me down so many roads, journeys and end points. This journey has taught me to keep my mind and heart open, to keep my spirit searching, to question religious dogma, to realize the interconnection of my mind, body and soul and to better understand grace. It’s a level of awareness and consciousness that teaches you to be more open to God’s voice- the God that exists outside the narrow framework of human religions. The real power behind magic and miracles lies in its potential to heal and improve the world rather than its power to merely increase one’s material goods.

In ‘The Way’, Josemaria Escriva reminds us that God is the same- yesterday, today and forever, and thus the miracles Jesus and the apostles did then, we can still do today. Jesus himself repeats it time and again, emphasizing that we have so much more power that he had himself; his life was about opening our eyes to it. My search of magic and miracles entails my staying connected to the source of my creation and seeking and being true to its will for my life. A huge part of this miracle working is all about loving, and giving. It’s still a terrain I am exploring, I feel like the young boy in Paulo Coelho’s ‘The Alchemist’, seeking gold. The positive vibrations I have had from the universe in the past keep me certain that there is something out there within my reach that I must continually strive for (and it’s not up in the heavens, it’s down here on earth). I’ve seen miracles in small and big ways- having some of my wildest dreams come true such as meeting the most affirmative partners in the world, getting admitted into a course of study I’ve always wanted to do, money falling into my lap just when I needed it, and synchronicities that have escorted me down life’s river to the place I am right now.

Ultimately, it’s a journey. I am still in the learning process but because I know miracles and magic exist, I wake up every day with a smile on my face, full of expectation about what new miracles the new day brings.
