The organization's founding members seek to create relevant, sustainable and empowering solutions, underpinned by a desire to be practical examples of God's love. At the core of the organization's mission is a desire to empower local communities and draw from as well as build upon the strengths already existing within the community. All of CI's work on the ground is locally-owned and driven.



CI employs a collaborative approach, and works with a variety of stakeholders and partners, including: local activists, the global church, individuals, corporations, international organizations and governments. The organization acts as a channel for resources and expertise, toward the best empowerment solutions for individuals and communities. The organization has an ultimate vision of a world free from extreme human suffering



Position



The Social Media Officer (SMO) reports to the Director of Engagement. He or she plays an integral role in assuring the organization is well represented on a variety of social media platforms. He or she will be responsible for all social media accounts, and will play an active role in crowd-funding campaigns, promotional activities and advertising campaigns. He or she will also display initiative in ensuring that the organization is fully capitalizing on social media and developing a strong web presence.



Deliverables/ Responsibilities



Update social media accounts daily, including, but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, PCDN and Pinterest.
Contribute to the development and implementation of relevant communication strategies
Contribute to the development of social media plans on a monthly basis
Prepare monthly reports evaluating and examining social media activities and recommended actions
Regularly research trends in the social media and networking field and explore new ways of communicating the vision and mission to the target audiences
Provide the Executive team with a bi-weekly report on social-media focused funding opportunities and avenues, e.g. crowd-funding portals and video or social media competitions.
Communicate clearly with other members of the team if there are any discrepancies with information published on social media accounts
Communicate directly with supporters through responding and creating opportunities for discussion on social media
Research trends in search-engine optimization and ensure that all blog-posts and digital content are optimized for search results.
Research opportunities for paid traffic delivery to blog and online-fundraising campaigns
Ensure all posted information is derived from legitimate sources

Minimum BS/BA degree in , IT, Advertising, Digital Arts, Business Marketing and/or 2 years relevant work experience
