Big steps. Giant leaps for Womankind

Neil Armstrong might have said that about landing on the moon - but I'd say it rings truest for the ILP! Since the time we began as a team on October 14, things have only gone from strength to strength thanks to my brilliant team, Janice, Wendy, Dafna and Kelly. We have been able to get a couple of interesting things off the floor over these two weeks!

Over the past fortnight, we've been able to add 350 consular establishments on the map, and about 30-odd organizations between South Asia and the United States of America. Our app developers are now in the process of working on the feeds from our Ushahidi based crowdmap to draw on the data and then build into the app accordingly. Its's also been amazing to look into ways to collaborate with other organization - Wendy has been amazing in recommending theOne Love Foundation. They do some brilliant work on sharing updates on organizations that women can reach out to for help, and on offering videos that help women understand their own situations and gauge ways to work around difficult situations.

Meanwhile, I also have the opportunity to join Elsa Marie D'Silva's initiative, Safecity, to welcome women to share their stories on their maps, and to use our maps to seek help wherever required.

We've also had some great milestones on the way!On October 22, I also got to speak about the GBV Help Map at the CII Federation Youth Chapter conference in Vadodara, Gujarat, virtually. The Red Elephant Foundation got a verified badge on Twitter, and I won We Are The City's Rising Stars of India 2016, making the list along with 49 amazing women all over India.

I'm really eager for great times ahead and I'm sure we're going to make an impact with all of this :)
