Will you support The Aramide Initiative?

These times are dark, difficult, and hope seems short on supply. We lost a very important member of our family, our sisterhood, our cohort of women who uplift each other - dear Aramide.

Aramide knew what it was to give love. Her last post on World Pulse embodied this goodness, this resilient spirit with which she not only marched on, but encouraged all of us to march on, too. She was committed to ending gender-based violence by working with adolescent mothers to help them voice their demands and to empower them through education. She spoke with conviction, worked with resilience, and fought brave battles in being herself and in doing her work.

That Aramide has passed on leaves a very important duty in our hands: to carry her legacy forward. The year Aramide was an Advanced Digital Changemaker, in 2017, Saahas was born. Our work fit into different pieces in the same puzzle: the puzzle of solving and addressing gender-based violence. With Aramide's love in my heart, and her goodness and hard working endeavours in mind, I want to call all my sisters on World Pulse to join me in keeping Aramide's legacy alive.

Starting today, I am building a section on Saahas that I want to name "The Aramide Initiative." This will carry short videos of skilling tutorials to help survivors skill up, acquire and learn of new tools, and gain knowledge on things that can support them in finding a job when they reclaim their lives after facing violence. In this endeavour. each of you have a big part to play. So, how can you help? The skilling videos will be made by each of YOU. All this will take is for you to fill out this form (click on the link), and we will get started!

Aramide, this is for you. We love you, and we will never forgive the universe for taking you away from us.
