“My Assets Map”

I love the risks associated with my job and my life. Zimbabwe is currently facing economic doldrums but this does not mean there are no opportunities for success and emancipation of the marginalised from the cultural and economic misconceptions that are binding them.

I am a renowned poet who is a great writer, public speaker and media specialist with a strong presence on the social media platform. I usually perform on women’s platforms .I use my public speaking as a way of addressing the issue of the plight of the marginalised woman. I believe not every woman is at the periphery of social strata hence there should be a unison clarion call from all women from all walks of life, coming together to fight the problems that we face. My talents have helped me and continue helping me to approach people from all walks of life because art is powerful in that regard.

Some recognise their situations through the books that i write, they later call me ad tell me how they have been helped to rise above their problems.

I dream of a country where both sexes are respected and given equal chances. A time when being a woman doesn’t bring any kind of stigma, a time when women can have the confidence to vote for each other in the public sphere.

I become powerful because of the women who surround me and those that have made an impact in my life. My primary school teacher enrolled me in a programme called the girl child network where we would learn about our rights as young women and also of great note is my father who from a young age would tell me that I was not a doorstep but a powerful woman who was created by God and lastly a friend with whom we co authored a woman’s poetry book titled LIFE, she is a woman who believes in fighting for the rights of fellow women and together we are ready to change the situations in our communities.

I feel safe when i am in my small world with my talents, plotting on way forward on my journey to fighting for women’s rights.
