Beyond the kitchen

Women in be Nkwen community are gradually coming out of the norm that a woman's place is in the kitchen and gradually getting out to explore opportunities available to them. But a majority who are not educated still don't know thier role in their communities. I hosted an event that brought together over 80 women in my quater, this took place in the quater hall with the approval of the quater head, I educated the women on how they can contribute to the day velopment of their community. Most of these women do not know their rights and this has lead to much domestic violence especially intimate partner violence. Women had to speak out and share their experiences after I had shared my own story.

I will be having another event with similar energy on Saturday the 14th where we will hear more stories and teach the women how to make powder and hard soap.
