Pros and Cons to the TCK life

Growing up I spent my childhood in Austria, Tajikistan, Nepal, and Kyrgyzstan. As a TCK, life is interesting because I have had the privilege of learning about different cultures and diversity. It's been interesting to grow up with different cultures because I have become more aware of the different ways of living on this earth and I now know how different people act. The only con I can find is the fact that I've missed out on a lot back home. I don't know what it's like to act like where im from because I never spent enough time in my own culture. Im grateful for being a TCK though and I love it.

Hi Lara,

Thanks for sharing your interesting post. That sounds like a great experience. So, where are you living now? Do you want to go back to experience your native origin's country more?

Hope you're having a great day!

I'm currently still living in Kyrgyzstan. I'm mixed. I'm half Austrian and Half Tajik. I would love to go back to Austria very soon.

Yes I relate to your story. When you feel like you are half that and half this haha. Sometimes is not easy with such environments, then you tends to always mixed everything in some situations thinking it will apply same everywhere. I think with much efforts you will be able to balance your focus one day. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. Hope you have a great day. :-)

Hello, Lara,

You're well-traveled! You maybe see the world in a different lens growing up in different cultures. Please tell us more what you appreciate in every country you've been to. On the other hand, it could also mean you are still finding you're identity on which country you can really say you belong. Thanks for sharing!
