My Dream

My Dream

Greed and People

Let’s stop and think about this can we really change the world? Yes, we can. If we all stood together and helped one another we could change the ways of the world today. If everyone of us turned to at least one person a day and said “Can I help you with anything?” Not because our job told us to, or because someone made us do it but they do it just because it’s the right thing to do.

We have all had that one point in our lives were we said to ourselves, ‘I need help.’ I don’t think we were put here on earth to struggle the way we are and live the ways that we live. I think we were put here to all help each other live another day. I think we were put here to build each other homes, help each other with food and clothing. Somehow though, someone thought of making something we call money, money came in to play, people became greedy and greed took over the world.

Everyday our prices for food, gas, clothes, a home all raise in prices. When does it stop? Where does it end? Are we supposed to continue the greed and empty the pockets of hard working people every day? The harder we work the higher the prices, the less we work the higher the prices. So, I guess the question really is, who is brave enough to turn to someone today and say here pay for the car behind me, allow me to pay for the food you cannot afford. Every day there is a child here in the USA that is missing meals, their parents can’t afford new clothes, enough diapers for their babies, or can’t afford to put gas in their cars to take their child to the doctors. This goes for adults too, so why I ask, why is it that greed wins?

I’ll tell you why greed wins, greed wins because money rules this world. It is extremely sad if you think about it. What is even sadder is that the people that protect us every day of the year get paid less than those whom entertain us. People left to fight for our country so that we could continue to be greedy. We sit at home watch T.V., go out with friends, play our gaming systems, eat a three course meal and these guys go out into the dangers of the world and fight for our freedom and safety. I bet there is a lot that police officers, firemen, paramedics, staffs at hospitals and urgent cares do to ensure our safety everyday so that another world epidemic doesn’t occur. Not Every cop should be hatted for another cop’s mistakes. That is like saying well the last person I dated couldn’t cook so no one I date can cook. I know that may sound silly but stop and think about it.

How can my dream Change the world?

To be honest I do not know if I can change the entire world because the world is huge. I do how ever know that I can change one person’s life and that person can change another person’s life so on and so on. I do know that I can make an impact on someone’s memory and that impact could change the way they think, talk, look at themselves or others, I promise it will make a change in the life of the person I talk too. They may not remember my name or hair color, the car I drive or my birthday but they will remember my tone and my words if they were listening. Now I am not talking about yelling at someone driving down the road because they made you angry, the only impression that leaves them with is that they upset someone by cutting them off so that car gave them the finger. Let’s be honest how many cars do you remember have given you the finger weather it was your fault or there’s depending on which side of the fence you are sitting on. Do you remember word for word what the person driving the car said to you? Probably not because their window was up or you window was up.

I am talking about actually giving good genuine advice to someone. Making a comment that left an impression in their memory of the words you said to them. I just found out that someone I helped just a few months back has up and moved to a whole different state because of words I once said this person has change the ways of the life style this person was living. I asked questions that I knew were hard for this person to hear at the time, words were hard for me to say. I didn’t know this person very well at the time but something about this person made me like them, stick by them and offer words to this person whether the person wanted to hear them or not. To be honest I would go back and do it again. Even though at this time in my life things were being stolen from me and the person I was renting from was not a great place to be, I would still go back and do it over again, not changing a thing. If I changed anything would this person still make the choices that this person has already made? Probably not.

Why change someone’s life?

No one person can change the world, but they can be a part of changing the world. The reason why I like helping others is because 14 years ago someone changed my life in a HUGE way. This person is still a part of my life, still encouraging me to push for my dream. If it wasn’t for this person I would be dead. I wouldn’t be sitting here writing this out and plotting how to change the world and how to get others involved. Instead of letting my past get the best of me this person has helped me grow and learn how to channel the energy that it takes to be angry at the world and channel it towards helping others. Sometimes I need a reminder not to give up, sometimes I still need help channeling the anger into good but when I do it feels GREAT. I can’t believe after so many years of being angry I could have been using it to be happy the way I am today. So I want to make an impact on someone’s life the way this person did for me.

How many ways can you change a person’s life?

The ways are endless… pay for the guy behind you in line. Offer someone help not because they are hurt or elderly or because you were called on the intercom for a carry out, because you had an extra 10 minutes to help that person put their groceries in the car or in to their house. I know, I know, people now days get this look of shock when others offer to help them because in this world we don’t know who to trust or when to trust them. We can no longer trust the kindness of others. Everyone thinks that if someone offers help then they are after something, they have to be offering the help because they want something in return.

In today’s world, maybe this dream I have will not happen overnight but one day it will be real. I will start with my small business that offers help to those who need it, hire those who need a job and sit with a stranger and listen to them talk just because they need someone to listen to the story about world war II they have told a million times to everyone else they know. I will offer a place for dogs to run free and never be kenneled because no unwanted, left behind or abused life deserves to be locked up in a small space. It is no animals falt that they get caught by the dog catcher and put in a cell for their safety, they have no voice to say I ran away because… I got lost from home… My owners no longer wanted me because I am no longer a puppy or kitten… I flew away because I discovered I had wings… I wasn’t fed my portion of hay because I was no longer a champion winner at the tracks… So I will be the voice for the animals, the ears for those who need someone to listen, a break for the constant caregiver that just wants to go out and buy an outfit or take a bubble bath. I will be the story that changes a teens life heading down the wrong road, I will be the person that offers help to carry in groceries or to the car. I will be the person that lends a helping hand to those in need of a helping hand.

What will you do to help a hand in your community?

Jesuswas NEVER greedy

Jesus was never hateful or greedy or mean, He died for our sins, He was kind no matter what others bestoyed upon Him. They where cruel and mean and no one believed in Him. No matter what others did, no mattter how cruel they where He remained loving.

Why are we different then this? He set an example and we strayed far from the map of examples He set when he came down, and rose again. Why are we different? No matter the religion that you may believe in your higher power set examples for us and..... I don't think we were put on this earth to live the way we do. Yet look at us. Every day I walk around and see so many people in need of just a little help and no one cares enough to stop and take the time out of their busy days to help that person you see sitting on the street, or laying down on a sidewalk does not look like they are in good condition so what do you do?

Here is a question for everyone... When is the last time you truely helped someone? Did you know them?

When was the last time you sat with a homeless man and fed them a decent meal?

Fact: Did you know that 40% of the homeless population are veterans that fought in war. According to a research study on veterans there are 200,000 and counting on any given day.
