Leah & The Footballers

The development of my sports reality TV show is quickly coming along and I'd like to share with you some of the progress since my last journal entry for the Women Weave the Web campaign. Firstly, the Hollywood producer has recommended the show's title be: Leah & The Footballers. I would love to hear some feedback about that title as well :).

The male players on the show will be playing on Europa Point FC and the female players will play on Malaga CF and filming will take approximately one month, in Gibraltar (which is next to Spain, but has British sovereignty).

Last week, the Senior Vice President of LockerDome.com reached out to me on LinkedIn and offered to let me use their platform to promote my show. Locker Dome is a digital sports platform with 65 million unique monthly visitors. I obviously said yes and told him that I was working on creating a weekly video blog and asked if I could post the weekly 2-3 minute videos on there and he said yes, that's perfect. He's created me an A-List profile at: lockerdome.com/leahdyck but there are not any videos yet. I am filming my first video on Tuesday, October 7th in Toronto, Ontario and from that point on, there will be weekly videos about the show's development.

I've almost finalized all the players and am working on getting them photo shoots set-up in the countries they're currently living in. These photo's will be for the pitch and other promotional activities related to social media sports marketing. I also asked my graphic designer to start working on the show's logo as well. So far, I have confirmed female players in Brazil and Egypt and am about to finalize an American-Mexican female soccer player. I have to finalize one more, who will be either African or English. For the male players, I've confirmed a Brazilian, South African and am about to confirm a Spanish player. I am also looking at a Canadian male player as well who currently resides in the UK and is pursuing his professional football career over there.

Every day I am getting Connected with new people who work in the professional sports entertainment industry and it's very interesting to watch it all come together.
