J99ners and other peers: University batch mates (1/4)

As we draw to the close of this training, i am very grateful for this opportunity offered by world pulse to be trained and oriented. i have identified three personal assets : Organisation/ Associations , Physical Space and Relationships.

The first two images represent a great deal my activities, J99ners like we call ourselves is an online group of ex-class mates at the university, batch of 1999. we came together to stay in touch and it grew to a platform where we can take care of each other, attend events, donate to the university, share jobs and other opportunities. On the picture we have several different occasions we had to meet and contribute to the community. The second picture is also another community Phenomenal African Woman (PAW) i belong to, we strive to Inspire, Celebrate and Educate women by women for a better Africa! That was during a planning meeting with the executive of the upcoming launch of activities and Cameroon branch. I am looking forward to a better community of women who are inspired and ready to make a difference one day at a time.

The third picture speaks of my personal space. My household of faith. This has been and still is my pillar of strength, my identity, courage, strength comes from here. I feel the most safe when i am here. i am reminded and assured of who i am and whose i am. I find solutions here, i find solace, i find peace, joy HERE!

The fourth and not the least is Relationships. I choose my Mother because she has been a source of strength. The foundation upon which i stand to see far is that which she built. like it says in the picture she is a virtuous woman. She has been there all the way. She shielded me, made decisions that worked out for my good. She brought me up in the way i aught to go and now that i am of age, it is the path i follow. I go back to her for advice alll the time.

All of these resources have helped and are helping me grow in my knowledge of who i am and what i am called to accomplish. My passion for people and their purposeful living, is as a result of what all of these have brought in my life.

true i am a journalist, hence a good public speaker but without anything authentic to say, i am useless. i found my voice through all of these and today i have much to say to whosoever listens.

This training in Digital Change making has enlightened me a whole lot more.

i am grateful.

Hi Kariz!

Its so great that you look to your mom for strength! Moms are truly very special! I also love that you and your university friends have formed that group. I am currently attending university and I hope we have a group like that too after we graduate!

So happy to hear from You Kank!

Mother is gold indeed!

For the university group, you cam start now while you are still in school and build strong networks with like minded class mates. meet and discuss, share and do something no matter how small. this will help build a bond that will grow stronger even when you leave. that was the peculiarity of my batch in school! we did alot together so it was easy to come together over 10 years later!

hope this helps! :)

Dear Kariz,

What an engaging post about mapping your assets!

I am thrilled to find what you and your old classmates have been able to do with an online platform, considering that you set this up years after you had all parted ways. This is a true testament of the power of digital platforms to expand the possibilities distance often challenges.

It is also beautiful to see how your women's group and your Church also provide such a strong support for you. And reading about your mother is heart-warming!

Thank you for sharing such an interesting post about your assets mapping exercise. And best wishes as you continue to maximize these assets.

Love,

Hi, Kariz!

I'm so excited that your group from 1999 has been able to keep in touch and support each other for so long! How I wish I could still be close to all of the ladies I went to school with over the years. Its harder to bond in that same way outside of the facilitation and intense environment that schooling can bring.

Your post has inspired me to never stop trying to be grateful for what different relationships have taught me.

Hi Kariz,

It's so great that you kept in touch with your coursemates from uni and you work together to give back to the community. I have lost contact with many of my coursemates, but reading about your experience inspired me to work on re-establishing those bonds. :) Thank you

My mother is also a huge source of support in all my endeavours. We are lucky to have such amazing women in our lives :)
