A Powerful Woman’s Voice

Shari Arison is an American-Israeli businesswoman, philanthropist, and author. She was one of the world’s most powerful women in 2012 and one of the world’s greenest billionaires in 2010. Shari initiated the international good deeds day in 2007 in Israel, with 7,000 participants. It has grown to more than 250,000 good deed doers in more than 50 countries across the globe. She does not only lead the world in doing good deeds, but she also inspires readers through her new book, “Activate Your Goodness – Transforming the World Through Doing Good.” In her book, Shari says, “By consciously choosing positive words, feelings, and actions every day, each of us can enhance the goodness in the world. I believe that doing good will transform and enrich our lives greatly and create a powerful ripple effect. Our personal and collective acts of kindness to ourselves and others will ultimately impact all aspects of life, the planet, and the whole of humanity. Her powerful voice says, “If we only think good, speak good, and do good, we can transform the world.” My interview with Shari on international good deeds day that was celebrated in the U.S. on March 10, together with the launching of her new book, was a great opportunity and experience. Her powerful voice has inspired my own voice to accelerate my impact as a citizen journalist. We may not be as powerful as Shari, but we all have powerful voices. And when our voices unite, that creates a more powerful voice to transform the world.
