STEM Girl's Picture Perfect 2020

The STEM Girl’s picture-perfect is currently a “WIP”. It is an activity-based approach of offering mentorship to young girls that will lead to the increased interest in the STEM fields largely because girls will find models whose stories they may relate with.

One part we have had to look into is what laws exist regarding the illustration of women scientists who have braved the odds excelled at their work and what ways to follow to get the permission to do such illustrations and for commercial purposes in the future.

We are creating a 50 paged coloring book which will be available as:

A kindle ebook(can be printed and pages handed individually to larger groups of children to color at events or acquired as a full book individually) and a hard-copy book.

We are looking to partner organizations that can support the printing of these books and possibly sponsor the for girls in under-served areas. If you are interested in supporting, kindly send a mail to [email protected]

The motivation is to demystify the study of sciences for girls while tracking their progress in the field through to potential science and technology leadership.

How many people have you impacted since your last update?

Hello, Lily,

This is a great concept. I love the idea of coloring STEM heroes. It brings inspiration and vision for girls. Better this one than fairy tales. Kudos to you and your team.

Looking forward to more updates!

What a great plan. It is so true that the inventions and achievements of women have been hidden from us in the telling of history, and this is still ongoing. The creation of a Coloring book featuring these women, is a brilliant way to empower girls. I hope you find the funding needed!

Hello Lily,
It is such a good idea this, to normalise the idea that women can excel in science fields to children from a young age, and that achievement can be as normal as the daily things they do, and therefore make it less daunting and more attainable.
Good on you, and congratulations on your growing impact.
