Stand With Kashmir

Throughout human history there have been intersectional moments when men have  made decisions affecting huge swaths of populations leaving us to wonder what was the criteria on which they based their decisions ....these pivotal times when advancement was an option....peace a course of action that could have been chosen....when care for full flourishing could have been part of peaceful and deliberate negotiations ...

Regarding the unlawful and immoral annexation of Kashmir the powers that be made a huge miscalculation and the darker side of midnight pervades Kashmir causing anguish ...horror ....hopelessness and agony..

Why ? How ? 

When leaders seek to dehumanize they can more easily oppress and deny freedoms with impunity because after all - the justification is the characterization of men and women to sub-human level....Hitler is a universal example studied in anthropology and social justice .....and psychology....

We find ourselves in this moment of time in history when those who study such things ...trend lines ...cycles ....theories predictive of 
human behavior -  will shake their heads and ask - what on earth were you thinking....

O you vicious heartless oppressors and depleters of souls...what were you feeling when you watched human suffering beyond contemplation....

The answer: glee and their misguided belief they have been given a mandate to destroy cultures ...societies and peoples....the very ones who were promised something radically diffetent .....

The beautiful poem out of Kashmir speaks of hope quashed in the face of a stubborn kind of rejection of humanity's values.... don't all peoples of the globe have the right to self determination and agency...to pursue dreams and aspire to their highest version....only blackness where heart should be could create a space so desolate and broken there is only despair growing in orchards where apples were ripening  just a few short days ago.... 
.....when brutality subborns humanity's rising ...when the laws under which mankind lives are abrogated on sheer will leaving those feeling the ramifications of it in shock and trauma... one must ask what is going on in the minds of brutes.....

Greed 
Malignant personalities 
Vacant suits talking lies
Lost men seeking value by devaluing and other-ing humans with whom they have dispute..  

This is a poem of truth...  of loss...and yet 
it is poem of hope afterall.....

Yet ...the question begged is when will hipe be restored and if peace comes to Kashmir today - what devastation ....longterm emotional disturbances and economic impact will this immoral illegal action have wrought.....

The historians of the future will write about this pivotal moment with shakey hands and heads wondering into perpetuity - what were they thinking - and more importantly -   why couldn't they feel the suffering of those they oppressed with no care at all....
