I Just Got a HIT!

It's took me by surprise when the news was broken to me. Gender base violence is killer of souls. Three years will be February 2020 when I moved into this my rented apartment.

I paid for exactly three years and per my records, February 2020 will be my exact 3years stay exhausted. Somewhere at the end of November last month, my landlord called for a meeting with me and him. To my surprise he is evicting me before February 2020.

When I asked why such sudden changes without notification. He told me someone (new tenant) has paid him for extra two years and will be moving in my apartment this month(December).

I complained him to the rent control department of Ghana for considering. When we got there I was more shocked. He lied to the staffs that the reasons for my eviction has to do rather with maintenance of the apartment.

The short of the matter is the rent control has ruled that I vacate for the maintenance to take place. However, the reality we all know is NOT maintenance! This is a big Hit on me. First I was not prepared financially since I knew  i had three months to put things together. Now time is cut short and no money also to go grab a new one :-(. Honestly, stress is not my thing, it's all over me. I wish I could hide it but for where. It's all visible!

You see Gender  Based Violence. In fact I am very restless since my safety and security is at risk. I will need your kind advice and support as to moving forward dear sisters.

GBV comes in many forms. It's an act of deliberate attack on the persons gender, sexuality and power. Please let's all stand against GBV. I stand with her, for her, and by her.

It's very frustrating! Current solution is I look for new place and moved. No physical cash else I left long time with a lots of new apartments offers nowadays. It's easy with available cash.

Oh, dear:-(

So, the landlord doesn't want to maintain the apartment? Whatever is the reason, it's sounds unfair and fishy. I'm sorry this happened. You can't find somewhere better than this place with the dodgy landlord? I think so, dear:-) I'm rooting for you!! Please keep us posted.

Dear Jill,
That was the thought that came to mind immediately. "Scheme and very doggy" not good. He does not put the interest of his tenants first. Is a dangerous to risk living in such places. Definitely, the best is to move out before hatred sets in :-(. However, finances is the big constraints.

It was unexpected! I have been visiting Banks to see if I can get a loan but oh mine. High interest and most are not willing to invest in accommodation, they prefer business :-).

I am really stressed! Thanks for the encouragement.

I think you will find somewhere better, dear. Keep your eye on the prize and visualize what you would like to attain in your price range.

I see. How can we help you to feel more grounded and positive?

You're welcome.

February 2020 will be exact 3 years. Yeah there are always a lots of apartment. Now the best plan is to attained funds to acquire another place, even if is lesser years.
Currently, a loan will be great but not from Banks puha. The banks interest rate here in Ghana is equivalent to the loan taken :-(
I am confused! Your advices are welcome. Send me a mail or messenger.

Dear Karen,
It's not fair I agreed. It's frustrating and stressful. I didn't not see it coming at all. Sometimes I see it before it arrived but this was too short for a vision.

The ruled is out! It's difficult to turn somewhere. :-(
Well, thanks for the encouragement.

Dear Lizzy,

This is so heartbreaking to read on a Sunday morning. I am so so sorry dear. I mean in Cameroon you do that to my sister, I show up and we better take the matter to court and see who loses in the end.
What a greedy and selfish landlord? Even if it were for maintenance, haven't you paid until February 2020?
My modest advice will be to breathe and pray for a level head so you start thinking of solutions, even if it means couching with a friend for a month or so.
I will reach out to you,
loads of love
Marie
