To be alive

To be alive
To be alive: Let’s live in the moment (1/1)

Do we all feel the same ? In this busy world where we are so engrossed in doing our daily work are we all living the process or are we just letting it pass?

Our precious moments are passing but we don’t realize that if we are even living the moment? The moment of the sun setting, a child smiling, students teasing each other, a dog playing; we often miss these beautiful moments. But, when we notice these, we come alive and it gives us a sense of what life is all about. It’s to feel that there are things which are precious, our state of mind and if we are being aware of if we are alive or just letting the time pass.

We need to truly feel these things which are precious. We need to question ourselves about the moments we live in; are we really enjoying it or just letting the time pass.

Let’s all get connected with small things that make us human, let’s show compassion and fall in love with little things we have. I just love the wind that’s blowing my hair and now I am smiling, are u smiling?

Hello, Lisha,

We live in a fast-paced world today due to tech advancement, and usually the presence of gadgets distract us from being and staying present.

I hear you: I agree with you.

Thank you for this beautiful reminder of capturing precious moments of our lives that we too often take for granted.

Hello Lisha,

Wow! This photo is breathtaking... where is it? Thanks for sharing your grateful and present post... these are both very good reminders. I don't think a lot of people do take time out of their busy days to be grounded, and present... fully embracing all the beauty and love in their lives... I'm glad you do!!!

Dear Lisha,
I love the rain, the morning breeze, a pond with lotus, children playing inside my house, my mother listening to news on the radio, our locaility women and friends visiting us just so we can sit and talk and laugh. Though I live in one of the largest growing cities in India( Bangalore), my real hometown is indeed a town in north east region of India( manipur. Please look up Imphal in the map if you get time). But inspite of my love for such simple things, I hardly get time to delve into it because earning an income to get food on the table, especially because competition in India is so tough due to the population and high education levels, there is hardly any time left for you to catch your breath, sip tea or put up our feet. I am waiting for a day when I can do all these again.

Love,
Urmila Chanam

Dear Lisha,
This is such a beautiful reminder. And such a breath taking photo! I too find myself racing too fast, but it truly is those moments when I stop to take in a moment of beauty, of kindness, of fun that I feel a surge of renewed energy. Reading stories here do that for me, too. I carry great joy from all the love and caring I read about that is happening because of the heartfelt actions being done by so many here.
PS Jill mentioned this: Do you see the little arrow beneath our comments? If you always use that to respond (it opens a "respond" box), we get an alert that you have left a message and it becomes a conversation!

Thank you for your reminder of the "Precious PRESENT"

I know, I, for one, take myself too seriously---and am hoping to develop less judgment of myself and others and more appreciation! One way I've been doing this is by keeping close in thought a character quality each new day. For instance, today's quality I've been thinking about, is "humility."

C.S. Lewis wrote that "humility is not thinking less of yourself but thinking of yourself less!"
So, today, I've been applying in a small way your helpful post of appreciation of the precious moments. THANKS
