Period Poverty Among girls Schools. .......



In Eastern province, most girls drop out of school and subsequently end up into child marriages because of Period poverty. The majority are children of subsistence farmers who grow just for consumption as a result of poverty levels which stand at 70% in the province. Stories of girls getting married early are nolonger news that it's so worrisome about the future of a girl child.



Period poverty has sent alot of girls back home and straight into marriages. 



The majority use unhygienic piece of clothes known as chitenje and a recent deverstating experience is where everytime this girl is on her periods, she digs a hole on the ground were she sits throughout her menstrual period because she can't afford even a used second hand material.
