My Source of Hope

The Sun challenges us to shine, the Cloud remind us to move, the Birds tell us we too can fly and the Sky tells us there is no limit to our dreams and goals. That is HOPE. Early every morning when I wake up,  I look through the windows,  seeing the plants opening their leaves with flowers  of beautiful colors,  the trees shading down their old leaves to give way to the young ones to enjoy sunlight,  the birds chanting sweet melodies,   in all these I build my Hope  knowing good days will come again.  When I think of those days when we used to see a new day happily and stroll around freely like citizens of their own country, I still have hopes. Today the Cameroonians in the NW and SW region, though being born free, they are in chains, we are slaves in our own Fatherland, we can't enjoy the right to freedom anymore.  We eat and drink what is available and not what we want. We hear our neighbors being kidnapped,  loves ones being kidnap in our presence day and night  but we can't say a word nether do we know who to call for help at a gun point.  Young people are murdered every day and night rendering some fellow mothers motherless, children fatherless, and wives windows. What baffled me is, the youth are the ones dying the most while the old washed them being murdered in cold blood for political gains.   Ohhhh Cameroon , I remember in my days of primary schools we used to sing a song " they is war in some countries but we enjoy peace in Cameroon" I believe other countries sing Cameroon today due to the ongoing crises in the SW & NW region.  My greatest Hope is that our cries will one day be heard and peace will return.  I believe that one day we will be totally liberated and our tomorrow will be fine.  I am so happy today because; I learn about Hope from the voices on world pulse. I have Hope from sisters bearing one another burden on world pulse I found Hope in reading sisters stories on world pulse.  I build Hope on the voices on World pulse.  My Four “I’s"

Hi sister lydien my heart really hurt for what is happening in our country Cameroon. Thanks for sharing this story. Just being for someone can sometimes bring hope when all seems hopeless. Lets be strong because things will get better. It may storm now but it never rains forever. Let's pray for peace to be restored back in our land . Let's believe and don't lost hope.

Glad to be hear and reaching out to people that can feel our pain.
Thank you Maeann - we are the hope, it begins with us

Hello, Lydien,

I love your beautiful perspective in life, how you look at nature and find hope. That is such lovely imagery of what our life can be, too: sun continues to shine, clouds move, and birds fly. So can we.

I love how amidst the crisis in Cameroon, you look at your window to see plants growing with flowers blooming, and more. You are so poetic, dear! Keep that writing style. It could bring you to places. Probably, you are one of the budding writers Cameroon is waiting to read. I find hope in your gift of writing, dear. Use that well. You have a voice. Let it be heard.

I stand with you as you hope, "My greatest Hope is that our cries will one day be heard and peace will return". Amen, dear. Amen!

I'm glad you find hope in World Pulse. We are happy you are here!

Hello Lydien
To have faith is to be sure of the things we hope for, to be certain of the things we cannot see. Have Faith and hope my sister that one day Cameroon will be better than it is today and as you wait for intervention, keep praying because I that believe God has the best answer.

Awesome write up lydien. I understand the context in which you are writing from it is such a bleak situation but the fact that nature can give you such hopes in life is an indication that hope for change is not an illusion for the CAMEROONIAN people of the English speaking provinces. If you can draw hope and hope from nature in as much as nature remains permanent therefore be hopeful that the much desired change and freedom will come to our people.
