Real Women, Real Lives, Real Stories

Women’s lives matter. Men’s lives matter also, but it seems like men have been getting good press for centuries. Women, on the other hand, have struggled to be noticed for many years. It was only recently in the United States (1970s) that Equal Rights came in to being. There are many places in the world where women are second rate, still to this day.

There are many talented and accomplished women out there. I’m privileged to know some of them. I see creative, professional, successful women in all walks of life. I admire their strength. Then I wonder at their perseverance.

I’m amazed at the challenges which have been overcome by the women I know personally. I can only imagine the adversity faced by other women in my world.

BlogHer has initiated a campaign in collaboration with SheKnows Media to celebrate #WomensLives. The goal of the campaign is to start conversations and foster change – the world over. So that women everywhere can be safe, successful and celebrated.
