GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE

Ce week-end en date du 14 juillet 2012, je me suis rendue au marche pour m'approvisionner en braise. J'ai trouve que les prix avaient hausse sensiblement. Au lieu de demander 16 ou 18 USD pour un sac, les femmes vendeuses avaient monte les prix jusqu'a 25USD. Etant donne que je ne disposait que peu d'argent, j'etais obligee d'acheter la moitie d'un sac a 12,5USD. Pour faire arriver ce colis chez moi, il fallais trouver un porteur, C'est ainsi que je me suis vue entouree des enfants qui pouvaient avoir respectivement l'age de 10,12,13 ans qui voulaient m,aider a transporter ce fardeau, moyennant quelque chose. Comme c'etaient des enfant, j'avais refuse. Apres, un homme etait venu demande ce service, j'avais refuse, en disant que je ne pouvais accorder cette faveur qu'aux femmes, car les hommes apres ce genre de travail, ils vont depenser le fruit de leur travail dans un bistrot, Quant a la femme, elle procure aux enfants de la nourriture,
C'est ainsi que vint vers moi une femme dont l'age variait entre 30 ou 35 ans. Je lui fis ce colis, car, ce n,etait pas la 1ere fois de la retrouver. Pendant qu'on avancait, elle me rapportait qu'elle venait d'accoucher avec quelques problemes, il y avait a peine 2 mois. La grossesse qu'elle avait lui avait laisse des douleurs au niveau de la jambe droite ainsi que la lombalgie, Malereusement, son conjoint etsit alle exploiter de l'or dans une localite denommee Missisi, il y a de cela 8 mois. Ce dernier n'envoit rien pour la prise en charge de ses 6 enfants. De ce fait, je suis obligee de faire le travail de portefait en vue de nourrir mes enfants. Toutefois, il arrive que les douleurs lombaires ou celles de la jambe d'accentuent de telle maniere que j'ai tendance a rester a la maison. Cependant les enfants crient et me posent la question de savoir si je restais, comment allons-nous manger. Je suis donc obligee d'aller faire ce travail, et ce en depit de ma sante precaire.
Actions urgentes a mener ;
-Organiser ces femmes, en vue de leur apprendre a exercer des metiers qui ne peuvent pas avoir des incidences negatives a leurs santes.
-Mener une forte campagne de sensibilisation, de formation et d'information de leurs droits
-Intenter une action juridique pouvant amener le conjoint a une prise de responsabilite
-Sensibiliser les familles a la scolarisation des enfants.

Urgent actions to be taken:
- Organise training for these women in order to teach them a profession that cannot have a negative impact on their health.
- Use legal action to force husbands to take responsibility
- Make families more aware of the importance of sending their children to school
