FAITH AND SPIRIT

Let me share with you my personal experience in the spiritual life. I learned to see the Lord's hand in my life. My husband had suddenly died in 1991, leaving a me the responsibility of my four sons, aged respectively 10, 7, 5 years old and 11 months for the youngest. As for me, I was 29 years old. I saw no sense in this. I asked myself a thousand questions about the fate of my children. But I prayed, I gave my distress to the Lord.

My spouse and I, we were Catholic, our concern was to bring up our children according to the recommendations of the Catholic Church. After the death of my husband, I have taught my children to pray the rosary, asking for the intercession of the Virgin Mary. Little by little, I taught them to recite the rosary. During this time I was also working in a public service. Before going to the service, I was preparing the children so that they could eat, because I had no servant to help me do the housework. After the school, they should have eaten according to my recommendations, and then do the homework. The elder was in fourth year of the primary school, the second in the second year and the third was going at the nursery. I wondered if I would have the opportunity to educate them. Grace to prayer, I had left them in the hands of God, but I was still working.

Today, I see the hand of God, as my children grow up. They studied. The first has completed Agronomy studies in and is an engineer; the second is graduated in Management; the third is doing the second degree in Mechanics and the youngest is attending the first year of a Ph.D. in Medicine. This is how the Lord gave blessed me. It helps me a lot not to lead a life of disorder, because we cannot educate children in single-parent families where one leads a messy life.

With all my children, I continue to evolve in spirituality, and we continue to observe the wonders of our God. In our difficulties, we continue to implore His help and support, I have been through several tests, but I am getting out of them by the grace of the Lord. I continue to praise and count on His support throughout my life.
