ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY/COALITION POUR LA PROTECTION DE L'ENVIRONNEMENT

Comme mon journal l'indique, notre structure s'est investi depuis de cela plusieurs années dans la Défense et la Protection de l'Environnement. Au cours d'une dizaine d'années, mon organisation dénommée "ACTION POUR L'EDUCATION ENVIRONNEMENTALE AU KIVU, APEEKI" en sigle avait s'était engagée dans l'éducation de la population congolaise dans la partie Orientale de la RDC à protéger l'Environnement. A travers la production de différents messages télédiffusés mais aussi radiodiffusés, depuis 1987, nous avions engagés cette bataille qui consiste à sensibiliser l'opinion publique de la province du KIVU à protéger son cadre de vie, mais surtout, à utiliser rationnellement les ressources naturelles renouvelables et celles non renouvelables se trouvant à sa portée d'une manière rationnelle, en évitant le gaspillage afin qu'elles puissent bénéficier aux générations futures.
Au fur et à mesure que ma structure évoluait, d'autres organisations ayant le même domaine d'intervention se sont jointes à nous, notamment, deux (2) structures des jeunes étudiants de l'Institut Supérieurs de développement Rural, dénommées respectivement Association Pour le Développement Intégral des Jeunes de Mudaka et l'Association de Développement et Défense des droits des Jeunes de Lugendo /Irambira. Ces deux structures des jeunes avaient émis leurs souhaits de travailler en coalition avec ma structure, compte tenue de l'importance que la jeunesse dispose face la protection de l'Environnement.
Pendant l'exercice de notre travail, mon souci majeur était celui d'impliquer les femmes à la protection de l'Environnement, car, après plusieurs descente que je réalisais en milieux ruraux, les femmes étaient souvent victimes de spoliations de leurs champs, ou parcelles. D'autre part, dans leurs travaux agricoles, elles se heurtaient à la problématique des érosions des sols dues à de mauvaises pratiques culturales. Dès lors, il fallait mener des actions de sensibilisation aux femmes à éviter les cultures sur brûlis pour ne pas appauvrir les sol, mais notamment leur apprendre à procéder à la délimitation de leurs concessions par le reboisement, mais aussi à établir les haies vives et anti-érosives en vue de combattre les érosions qui sont à la base de la baisse des productions agricoles.
En 2O11, une troisième structure s'est jointe à nous, c'est l'organisation féminine dénommée "FEMMES NOIRES, FEMMES AFRICAINE" avec laquelle nous poursuivons nos activités sur terrain.
C'est suite à l'émergence de nos activités, et surtout à travers l'implication des femmes dans cette dynamique que ma structure a révisée sa dénomination pour devenir l'ACTION POUR L'EDUCATION ENVIRONNEMENTALE, GENRE ET DEVELOPPEMENT DURABLE AU KIVU "AEGDK" en Sigle.
Il est important de vous signaler que nous travaillons autour d'une synérgie dénommée "COALITION POUR LA PROTECTION DE L'ENVIRONNEMENT ET DEVELOPPEMENT DURABLE AU KIVU. "CPEDK" en sigle.

Perspectives d'Avenir :
-Poursuivre l'éducation des populations du Kivu à la protection de l'Environnement
-Mettre en places un projet de fabrication de la briquette biomasse comme alternatif à la déforestation en vue de limiter les émissions de gaz à effet de serre,
-Mettre en place un centre de documentation et une bibliothèque environnementale
-Mise en place d'un projet de ramassage et recyclage des déchets non-biodégradables, à exécuter par les femmes

RECOMMANDATIONS :

-Nous sollicitons à World Pulse de nous aider dans le foundraising
-Etant donné l'aspect puremment technique du domaine d'intervention de notre coalition, nous suggérons à World Pulse de tenir compte de notre coalition qui intervient dans la thématique "Protection et Défense de l'Environnement, en vue de ne pas disperser les efforts.
-Dans le souci de l'application de la résolution 1325 du Conseil de sécurité des Nations Unies sur le Genre, notre domaine d'Intervention devra toujours orienter cette thématique sur l'impact de la gestion des ressources naturelles sur la vie des femmes en REPUBLIQUE DEMOCRATIQUE DU CONGO, notamment les questions ayant une incidence tant négative que positive sur la vie des femmes.
-Notre coalition fonctionne indépendamment d'autres synérgies ou organisations existantes. Cet aspect nous aidera à éviter toute confusion au cour de l'exercice de nos activités.
Ce principe plan directeur guidera nos activités à mettre en place tout au long de l'exercice 2013 qui va bientôt commencer.

ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY / COALITION FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT

As my journal shows, for so many years, our structure has been invested in the Defence and Protection of the Environment. Over a decade, my organization called "ACTION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION IN KIVU, APEEKI" in acronym was committed to the education of the Congolese population in the eastern part of the country to protect the Environment. Through the production of various radio and television broadcasted messages, since 1987, we engaged in a battle that is about raising the public awareness of the province of Kivu to protect its way of life, but most of all, to use its renewable and non renewable natural resources in a way that is rational manner, avoiding waste so that they can benefit future generations.
As my structure evolved, other organizations with the same area of focus joined us, for instance two (2) groups of the young students from the Higher Institute of Rural Development, known respectively as Association for Integral Development of Mudaka Youth and Development and Advocacy Association of Lugendo / Irambira Youth (Association Pour le Développement Intégral des Jeunes de Mudaka et l'Association de Développement et Défense des droits des Jeunes de Lugendo /Irambira) These two youth groups had expressed their wish to work in partnership with my structure, given the importance of the role that the youth play in the protection of the Environment.

During the course of our work, my major concern was to involve women in the environmental protection because, after several trip in rural areas, I noted that women are often victims of spoliation of their fields or plots. On the other hand, in their farm work, they face the problem of soil erosion due to bad farming practices. Therefore, action was needed to raise awareness in women so that they would avoid burning their fields before cultivating as it impoverished soils, to teach them how to proceed with the demarcation of their concessions using reforestation and also to establish natural and anti-erosive hedges to combat erosion which is the basis of the decline in agricultural production.

In 2O11, a third group joined us, a women's organization called "BLACK WOMEN, AFRICAN WOMEN" with whom we have carried on our field activities.
It is after the start of our activities, especially through the involvement of women in this dynamic group that the name of our structure was revised and named ACTION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION, GENDER AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN KIVU "AEGDK "in acronym.

It is important to inform you that we are working within a synergy called "COALITION FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN KIVU", CPEDK in acronym.

Future Prospects:
-Continue the education of people in Kivu about the Protection of the Environment
-Put in place a project to manufacture the biomass briquette as an alternative to deforestation in order to limit the emissions of greenhouse gases,
- Put in place a documentation center and an ecological library
- Establish a project to collect and recycle non-biodegradable waste, run by women

RECOMMENDATIONS:
-We plead for help from World Pulse with fundraising
-Given the purely technical aspect of our area of intervention, we suggest that World Pulse takes into account the fact that our coalition is involved in the theme "Protection and Defence of the Environment, so that it does not scatter efforts.
-In order to implement the 1325 Resolution of the Security Council of the United Nations on gender, our area of intervention must always orient this subject matter on the impact of the management of natural resources on women lives’ in the DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO, noting issues that affect the lives of women both negatively and positively.
-Our coalition is independent from other synergies or existing organizations. This aspect will help us to avoid all confusion at the heart of conducting our activities.

This directing principle plan will guide our activities to be implemented along the course of 2013 that is about to begin.
