Mobilizing women leaders across 100 villages to empower local women

Main focus: Gender budgeting at district level.

With the help of my team members, we have trained 500 women across 100 villages for the implementation of Pradan Mantri Kaushal Vikas scheme (PMKV). This work is done in coordination with village level government known as the Gram Panchayat to ensure women are elected to those offices and form part of decision-making process. This bridges the gender gap at local village government level with the by tapping on the PMKV scheme.

This scheme offers Skill Certification to large number of Indian youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood. These women have also gotten training from the local government. We have facilitated 20 women to get loan from the local village level government by helping them fill the forms, create awareness on different services, etc.

We also have helped them select the business best suitable for them. We have also worked with Self-Help Groups through which 10 women have started their own business of stitching clothes, bags, masks, etc., and 8 women have received help on securing loans, methods of farming, etc.
