Aging can be a blessing or a curse. As I am reaching the age of 40, I always ask myself what I have accomplished that makes me dream more. What are the challenges of my life that made me strong and keep me standing right now? Questions brought me to ponder on the story that I want to share about what I see on “Aging”.
I thought I would not reach this far, but one thing that I discover is that when you are aging..... You are becoming mature on your decisions in life. Even this body that I have taken advantage during my younger age, I need to value and take care of it because there’s no replacement for it when weakened.
What I believe is that it is not the number, but it is the wisdom and knowledge you have gained from your childhood to NOW that determines how you want to live for each day. Some bring her past into her present, talking to self; saying I am old wandering in this world. Each day when you woke up, you have a chance to change your way of thinking. And that dawn me as I age, I have the opportunity to live and use the purpose of my past experience to share my thoughts with the younger generation as a mentor to them.
Never I regretted and hide my age because I have earned this age with perseverance and courage to live and enjoy the life that has given to me. My age does not determine how I purposely live today. What matter is how I become an influence and bring impact to others as I use the number of days I still have on this earth.
Aging is not a thorn to society. Aging is not a barrier to young generations. Aging brings guidance and teaches us the ways of life.
For this reason, I will use what I have in my hand; transferring to young generations what I have learned from life so that they too will build and stand for themselves. And when they go through aging, they will do the same, not to be a problem but to be part of a solution.
"Even to your old age I will be the same, And even to your graying years, I will bear you! I have done it, and I will carry you; And I will bear you and I will deliver you" (Isaiah 46:4)
