When we were young we feasted on limitless possibilities. We could be anyone, do anything, and go anywhere. We could speak the words and become a beauty queen, a doctor, an attorney or a soldier.
We knew our life had marked with a purpose. Someday we would discover the unique pathway we had been created to pursue.
As we grow old, everything in our life feels like a chore or obligation, exists in a rut of exhausting duties and demands. We struggle with feelings of inadequacy, boredom, and guilt.
We’ve all been there at one time or another. We sometimes overlook the value of our days until it is too late to taste the wonder.
As technology and society are transforming, lesser interactions are happening because of the use of mobile phones or other gadgets.
I hope that we adult will not let this technology devour our special moment with our family and friends. This should not define you as well.
The children are most in danger of developing social and interpersonal communication. In the long run, if this is unchecked, they won’t develop patients, communications and incapable of making fine distinctions.
Let us find ways to look at the eyes of our children and see their souls, to hear them before we speak our minds. Let us not trade our interactions with our children to temporary things.
Before age fades, let us trace our spouse’s face in our memory, enjoying every moment while there is time.
Every ticking moment before it slips away, let us taste, feel, smell and hear it.
We all want these, but we rarely manage them because of little time, little energy, with so many distractions.
But it is a choice. It is ours to savor and enjoy.
Let us bring that limitless possibility back when we were younger that marked with a purpose in this present. We might not able to pursue it because of challenges, but we can still do something about it by bringing awareness, leading individuals to a passion that expresses their deepest nature.
We are the HOPE for this insecure world. We are the HOPE for the future’s present. It begins with YOU.
