Women uses Technology to share their advocacy that Teach, Empowers, Changemaker and Hope

I never thought that I can connect through the power of technology. The celebration of International Women’s Day 2020 sparkle an idea of a webinar, a seminar conducted over the internet. It’s not new to me since I have been joining several webinars online, but I never thought of hosting one.

This technology gives way for my fellow World Pulse Ambassadors and Encouragers to meet online through Facebook messenger to plan on how we can celebrate International Women’s Month.

This technology transformed my life on how I can connect globally and making it work for women by encouraging them to share their stories and advocacy online.

Through this online webinar, a barrier has been break because it is showing us that there are women who have more to tell, women can express, women can connect and women can build a movement on breaking the silence by one click, one comment, one connection at a time.

As long as you have internet, a topic and willing to tell your story you can reach more women and young girls.

The internet is so powerful that can stir up fear or inspiration. But we choose to use this internet to connect and build sisterhood.

Four things that amaze me while I spearhead this webinar with my sisters on World Pulse.

T - Teaches me to read and learn how to use digital tools available online. The course I enrolled in online helped and gives me the courage to make this happen.

E - Empowers women in my community that they can not only write, but also tell their stories online. Most of the time we watch other people's stories, but this time we tell our story. A story that inspires and empowers women.

C - Changemaker, is how this technology brings us together. We gather knowledge and resources to make a change. The women of today can use technology by pooling of talents and skills. This we create a difference. Women can share their experienced, can share their advocacy and share her interest that everyone can learn from each other.

Example here is a Facebook group created for Mommies who have kids with special needs. This support group is our way of reaching out with women, letting them know that they are not alone in this journey. And this technology is a way to connect with them.

H - Hope. There is hope for every woman that when they can access the internet and start building one voice then those who are deprived, abuse, experienced injustice can be heard and receive support through encouragement and create awareness. This deliberately creates a revolution of oneness.

I am so overwhelmed because ideas and opportunities keep coming. This covid-19 brings fear to many and these results in lockdown in my area for a month.

And the internet definitely will be widely used as the family stays at home as we follow Government advice to practice social distancing and implement community quarantine, so the webinar schedule is also timely for us to Livestream via Facebook live so that we can be watch and heard on how we are creating a change using the internet with our advocacy, and share what we learned so they can also relate with us.

Through this, we hope that we will be able to inspire and encourage women online that they can learn and engage because I believe that we have the power to connect online or offline, we only need a door of opportunity and sisterhood that can lead to a greater impact.
