Coping through an emotionally triggering and charged day living with PTSD
#ptsd #triggers #coping #mentalhealth
I am a domestic abuse survivor and single mum of 3 boys. I was diagnosed with PTSD in 2014. I am a high functioning person with a lived experience of a mental health condition, and sometimes I can go through a traumatic episode which lands me in tears and under the radar for a while (mostly a day nowadays). It's important for me to identify what's going on and to set my coping mechanism in motion before it gets out of hand.
In the linked 18 minutes video, I discuss the following and encourage the following too
1) Reaching out for help 2) Finding so much help 3) Appreciating it all 4) Sharing my experience to inspire motivate and encourage 5) There is hope 6) God is good all the time - the role of faith 7) Do not suffer in silence 8) You are not alone
