Initiative Update

A comment and a commitment get me out of my house after two days

Mental Health is described as a state of wellbeing...holistic one...and I haven't been in such a state for a while...this month of August (I thought it should be over by today but nope not yet zut) has been a very challenging and rollercoaster one for me.

And so I have been struggling yet striving one day at a time...but last Friday I could only push myself to workout and then slug around the house...It all began with some disrespect from a Man (potential date which of course never happened again), and then the next day (Saturday) two baby sisters shared with me how they had been body shamed by some other guys. I did a post about that and then got into my PJs and back to bed.

It was Elizabeth Rooney's comment on that post which I saw this morning that gave the zeal to get up, cook some food and then commit to go out of the house today. I asked my wounded inner child what she wanted as comfort food and she said Pringles wow (it's been so long I had any, that Ayo girl keeps track hahahaha).

That was how I did as planned and deliberately wore the a t-shirt by Nakinti's organization RESCUE WOMEN, on the POWER OF OUR VOICES, and I went to get them pringles.

Since I equally wanted to SELFISHLY eat all of it alone (or as much as I wanted before seeing my son), I stopped by my office which is fortunately before my house and whose keys I had picked up just in case...am actually writing this from there while munching them pringles...

I feel so much better and will clean up the office some because I have done that in two weeks zut.

I really appreciate Liz's comment and the Anthem I AM WOMAN she recommended therein...I hope my sharing so unfiltered also inspires motivates and encourages someone...

Hmmm….bravo. And…let that be the last time I ever see you reference a man putting you into that state of mind. Never! Ever! Again! Do not ever let a man tell you who you are or try to destroy who you are. What is he now? Nothing but yesterday’s faded memory, where he deserves to be…amongst the rubble in the dust. We are all better than this. I have been just like you, but I learned the hard way, finally thank God. It all emanates from within ourselves. From how we allow ourselves to treat ourselves so poorly, as a reflection on words from some nobody, who clearly hasn’t got a clue. Trust your gut. You’ll be ok. Life will be grand. Of course it will have its ups and downs, but on your terms. Not some man’s hollow words. Continue on and always try to fight to rise, like the words of Maya Angelou’s poem. God bless xxx

Awwww Liz,

Dunno how to thank you. How you found my spirit deserving of aligning with yours and reaching out to me oh my. I hear you mam and I COMMIT to not even let a man's whatever opinion or actions towards me even keep me in bed with an ache again. I remember my own poems like STILL I SMILE; BE THE BEST YOU CAN; THIS LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE, I GIVE MYSELF PERMISSION & IT'S OK

I love that you got the pringles and on the same day heard Helen Reddy's anthem. Let's keep roaring together and heeding your lead to take good care of ourselves as we continue on.

Dear Tam,

Thank you so much. Indeed the song shoved me up very fast...I thought of my sisters in Afghanistan who can't even so what I do without risking their lives...and I told myself to get my body out of that house asap hahahahaha

Dear Marie,

I am proud of you, always! You are one strong woman I have come to know. Your resilience. Your fierceness. Your power. Your voice. Your womanhood and your sisterhood are all one big force playing together to inspire and to make the world a better place. Continue to be strong and be confident of the "Strong MAG" and yes, you are a force to reckon with.

Sending you hugs and kisses.
I miss you on facebook ooo, but I know you are away for good -- so, yes, keep being you!

Love
NN

Sis of mine,

Thank you. I was away from World Pulse too for a month and I couldn't wait to be back.
You know how we inspire, motivate and encourage each other right? Let's keep on keeping on.
Loads of love
