Grant for Youth

I thought this might be helpful.  I have no personal knowledge of how it works.

Invitation Letter:

The Comic Relief US Youth Advisory Council is excited to announce the launch of the Juntanza Fund, a new fund that provides grants to youth-led social change campaigns and programs in the United States, Colombia, Cambodia, Kenya, and Somalia.

Are you a young leader in the US, Cambodia, Colombia, Kenya, or Somalia working to change the world?

Do you have a vision for changing the lives of children and youth hit hardest during the Covid-19 pandemic?

Are you currently leading work in your community to ensure kids can access

healthy food, quality education, or mental health support?

Then you should apply for a grant from the Juntanza Fund! See details below:

WHO:  A group of three or more young people (ideally aged between 16-24) sponsored by a registered nonprofit or registered as a nonprofit with a youth-run and led program.

WHAT: The CRUS Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is launching a new fund, Juntanza, to provide grants to youth-led social change campaigns and programs in the United States, Colombia, Cambodia, Kenya, and Somalia. Proposed projects must address issues of hunger, education, and mental health while lifting up the intersections of racial and gender equity for young people in these target regions. Juntanza means a union to help each other and achieve a common goal and originates from Afro-descendant communities in Colombia.

WHEN: Applications open on June 17th and are due August 6th.

WHY: In light of the status of the world emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Juntanza Fund will address key challenges and gaps identified by the YAC that have been exacerbated in recent months.

HOW: The Juntanza Fund will make grants of $5,000-$10,000 USD for up to a one-year term to youth-led programs, organizations, and campaigns. Apply at this link. Examples of what we fund and the eligibility criteria can be found in the Request for Proposals and Application Guidelines.

If you know of any organizations that fit this criteria, we would appreciate you passing this invitation on. If you have any questions about the Juntanza Fund or the YAC, please email yac@comicrelief.org
