This article was very eye opening for me especially due to the fact that now the United Nations is on the verge of fighting the world wide web in cyber bullying. I enjoyed reviewing this article due to the fact it spoke the truth regarding women and their relationship to culture, even on the internet. This quote that made me think, “women won’t see the full benefits of [internet] access if they remain at risk of threats and hate speech every time they use their mobile devices.” Even when trying to defend and protect women to seemingly give women better equality, still in the world they separate women as the ones needing guardianship. The Internet is open to everyone be it gay or straight, man, women or transgender. everyone can use the internet, and everyone can be used and hurt by the cyber bulling not just women. This article points out the hardships for just women but what about the minorities within in the broad gender such as transgender women, or others who don't identify with any gender roles. I believe that helping solving the cyber bulling will help a lot with the problems of the internet, but it won't stop just with gearing toward women. The internet is way too broad to stopped by just helping women, it needs to be attacked at different angles so that any type of harassment or cyber bulling can be tracked and stopped easier. I do like that they want to specific help women in this article but women are not the only ones affected by the same things happening in this article, all people are affected by this new age harassment. The internet can only can safe when everyone is protected not just the few.
