My 5 years journey to finding World Pulse and how my spirit told me it was time

It was in September 2013, I can't forget, when I first stumbled upon World Pulse (WP) on the web for my first time. I was doing an internship at the European Parliament while studying in Brussels, and although I was super excited to have gotten that amazing opportunity in the first place, I was already feeling 'bored' as in not much interesting to do.

I went onto the web and typed women issues and opportunities and a few sites popped up. I noted WP and a one called Gateway for Women's Economic Empowerment - affiliated to UN Women. Since I was hoping to get an opportunity there, I decided to apply to be a pioneer community champion with their newly created virtual platform. WP didn't catch my attention at the time because I didn't take the time to check it out and the name as is didn't give away much to my 'fragile self' at the time. But I subscribed to their pop up or something of that nature because I periodically got notifications from them.

In August 2015, I returned to Cameroon and was already by then a full fledged blogger and also blogged for a few other sites which had approached me. But I never felt the ...(everything I can't even find a word) I felt just last month.

So what happened last month? Ha, I received a notification email from WP as follows:

\"from:World Pulse <info@worldpulse.com>

Thank you for speaking out!

Together, we are creating a more secure world.

Dear Friend,

Our month-long digital event to gather your stories, experiences, and visions for a more secure world has come to a close. From Australia to Malta to Zimbabwe and everywhere in between, we shared our stories to illustrate the security issues we face and the solutions we hold as women to create a more peaceful world\".

A voice in me said girl, what are you waiting for to check WP out more closely?

I was invited to our 2nd national mental health days in another city as a speaker, and Arrey a WP sister I knew on facebook only, had agreed to host me. As soon as I enterred her home, behold I saw a WP badge...that voice laughed at me...and I said ok you win.

I returned to my home on the 14th and published my 1st post on WP on the 15th. Something magical happened. Jill left such a welcome and comment I had to go to her profile and write the following to her:

\"Dear Jill,

Thank you for welcoming me to WP and I feel so homy there, it's like what was I waiting for?\"

Now, she replied and encouraged me to submit a story for a a certain call, and I did that same day...I had been promising to write my younger self that letter for 7 years now...there again my spirit gave the word through Jill...

Ain't all that awesome and even near magical sisters? Sometimes we go through so much but we musn't give up. It took me 5 years to get onto WP, it is time now for me to make my home in WP. i am really grateful for the founder and all those she works with to make this platform such a haven for us all.

Here is to more to come

Sisterhood forever
