How can I keep quiet when even babies are raped? The story of 3 year old Judy

It happened over a week ago and when I got the call I didn't know how to react. In barely 2 months I have received and worked with 7 victims of sexual abuse and rape, but I had not come across a case as vicious as baby Judy's.

Judy's mother is 19 years and still in high school. Her dad is 21 and a farmer. They all lived with their grandmother. On that fateful night, her aunt's boyfriend lurred her outside and quickly took her away to the bush to first try to sodomise her before raping her. The picture of her shattered private parts are so gruelling to share here.

I convinced the mother to let me raise a big alarm with the case for several reasons including rallying much needed support for baby's surgery. Indeed, they were transferred from the small city in the Eastern Region of my country, to the capital city by ambulance. The case was becoming critical and I couldn't contain my wails o.

I did a string of live videos and made phones calls to all I knew who could know someone.

I am not giving up, I will be going to see them tomorrow because we are not in the same city. The fellow was caught and has been transferred to prison awaiting trial, but am in no haste with his case. I will take that case up pro-bono of course, there is no way I am asking for a dime after all what those teenage patents should be going through. They couldn't even afford for a bank of blood and a malicious nurse had even first lied 10 were needed.

Anyways, thank God surgery was successful yesterday, and although the doctors say she may need another surgery, I have faith in my God.

It is very important we don't let such atrocities go unnoticed and unpunished. One day, I would be joined by many in this advocacy and outreqch in my country Amen.

Hi Marie,

Thanks goodness for the crucial work you are doing. Poor, poor baby Judy:-( I'm glad you didn't share the photos. It's making me sick to my stomach just thinking about this poor girl. Thank you SO, SO much for the work you are doing. Please keep us posted on what happens to the perpetrator. I hope he's taken off the streets so he won't be a repeat offender.

Dear Jill,

I have been so consumed by this case that I barely checked my emails the whole week. I went to see this baby and her parents - the doctors too, and there is a lot of hope. The baby girl herself is strong. The perpetrator ha, he might as well rot in jail. I will sure keep us all posted. Thanks for being so encouraging always

Hi Marie,
Your title says it all. How can we keep our voices silent, our outrage contained at how a three year old can have suffered a brutal rape, and how every day of our lives young girls, teenage girls, women are being raped, brutalized, murdered. For Judy let us continue to build this global movement for change. May we see the day that men step forward to condemn any man who is violent.

Dear Ram,

Ah the things which happen in our society these days! I really wish to see that movement of men joining forces as you rightly mention.
Yes yes, for Judy and all the many others, we will keep on. I made the pledge anyways

Thank you so much sis,

You got the right word. Disgusting it is and was. And I just got called for two more of such disgusting cases. I think we will get somewhere at this rate of advocacy. Our voices will not be silenced again.
Thank you so much and you know how much I appreciate you. Can't wait to chart my way to Ibassa for a retreat o

Thanks for the great work you are doing marie. God is at work for Juddy. Ohh mon Dieu!!!!
