Organizing the first Solidarity and Sensitization walk against rape in my city, being the Voice of the Voiceless

Hello World,

Here I go again. So much abuse and pain and hurt in our society, my association Hope for the Abused and Battered put together a synergy of associations and we are organizing the first Solidarity and Sensitization walk in my city of Douala, Cameroon. The synergy is called Together Against Rape, and we (H4AB) are the main field organizers. It hasn't been easy, but we are happy with the support from many especially moral support, and we want to especially recognize the Network for Solidarity Hope and Empowerment who are equally leaving no gap for the successful organization of the walk.

Together, we will walk and show some solidarity. We will raise awareness, and advocate for firmer laws and more compassion.

Hello Dear Marie,

How are you doing? Thanks for sharing your most excellent, and needed initiative! I'm looking forward to seeing how this goes, and how many participants you get. This will definitely raise awareness on this prevalent, and often ignored, challenge. How far are you walking, and from where to where? I wondered if there was a significance on the location(s) you have chosen. Good luck, dear trailblazer.

Dear Jill,
Thank you so much. Yes the route chosen is intentional. It is around the main administrative areas and residential areas in the heart of the city, there are also commercial activities and traffic flows in the routes chosen. We go pass the Cathedral and the church will take note too. The distance to be covered is about 3.8 kms and we are hoping to have an stand up sensitization brief event both before and after the walk. I am hoping to get the concerned administration like public health and social affairs involved. Thank you once more dear

Hi Marie,
Rape is definitely not a pleasant situation to find yourself in and hence I walk with you to say a big NO to this traumatic act.

Let's all say No to RAPE. Thanks for sharing it with us
