Ode to my mentor and others like her

My mentor I want to rhyme about is called Sophie Ngassa. We met right here on World Pulse. I took some time marveling at her profile and her aura silently on Facebook too, before my spirit told me it was time to reach out. The spark was in volts and has been same a year and more later. Indeed, I was so happy to nominate her for the Ambassador Spirit of World Pulse category - and oh yes she was a runner up hurray.

You see, a mentor could be near or far, one you can see and talk with, or only one you write to or read from what they share online.

I got in Sophie a plenty in one mentor. She can even give me a healing hug and tell me the sort of things you need to hear when you are seeing so much pain around you, and wondering just how much a single you can so?

That was how last Thursday in her city of Yaounde, after the consultation of a 3 year old viciously raped and sodomised 10 months ago, and the surgeon talking of two more surgeries left and need for more care and all, I couldn't bear it a day more. I called my mentor and was just balling. She told me to wait just where I was and came to meet me right there .This is the second time I collapse into her arms crying all I need.

And after spending 1.5hours with her, you couldn't tell I was the one crying some moments ago lol.

And so to you my one of a kind mentor, I just want to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

To you who mentor others and are doing your best to be holistically present for them too, I say thank you too plenty.

And above all, to you Jensine who had this vision and nurtured same to the World Pulse we have today and so enjoy in several ways, I say THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
