I nominate Shameela Yoosuf Ali for the WP Spirit Award Storyteller Category

Do you know someone who embodies the essence of World Pulse? Oh yes I know

Shameela Yoosuf Ali

and I hereby nominate her for the WP Spirit Storyteller category.

What do you most appreciate about this member? Shameela has a spirit around her I relate to from so far. I feel her vision and passion and realize from the stories in the magazine she created and champions that we are many the globe over to have been through similar stuffs after all wow.

How does she embody the World Pulse Spirit? "She lifts up those around her. She speaks out for what she believes. Listens with empathy and without judgment. Seeks personal transformation. She is trustworthy. She is a connector. She uses technology, and she is passionate about making a difference". Shameela makes women the world over feel their voices matter regardless of what we have been conditioned for generations and for various shallow and obvious reasons to believe, or been through.

How does she encourage others, create impact in her community, and/or use her voice to uplift others? Shameela has created a beautiful initiative to give not only women in Asia but the world over, a voice in the form of a Magazine aptly titled FemAsia described thus; "A Digital Space For Women To Empower, Inspire And Impact The world". The Impact goal she set for her initiative is as audacious as the raison d'etre for her initiative is commendable; she projects reaching out to 80.000 women, writers, activists, academicians and policymakers in Asia & around the world and this to me is the World Pulse Spirit personified.

What impact has she made in your life? Shameela is soft spoken, I had the pleasure of hearing her speak once during a featured changemaker training we are both part of, and I love listening to women who speak softly with conviction. I try to do that a lot too because I am aware of the steroetype that only bitter and angry women raise their voices, and I don't admire that hahahaha. Recently once again, she wrote a post about 2020 being the year for introverts and I loved it. I now identify myself as a social introvert or some ambivert or Omnivert and that's ok. Reading Shameela's post really made me feel less alone and more convicted to stay authentic and vulnerable. I am actually working on an article for her Magazine this very say hurray. Dear Shameela, Thank you for all you do
