Do you have a mentor? How do you prepare for your meeting with your mentor? My Story

Do you have a mentor? How do you prepare for a meeting with your mentor? I have had some mentors before, both those who knew they were mentoring me like GS Sophie Ngassa Fon Nsoh and others who didn't like GS Olutosin Oladosu and Lisa Nichols in the US. But, World Pulse gave me an amazing opportunity to have a formal mentor and the soul they matched me with is a spirit sister now. This is none other than Megha Venketasamy . Now, I looked up the role of a mentor so I have something formal to share:

"A mentor may share with a mentee (or protege) information about his or her own career path, as well as provide guidance, motivation, emotional support, and role modeling. A mentor may help with exploring careers, setting goals, developing contacts, and identifying resources"

Megha probably knows this because she did all this for me during the 6 months of our formal program (actually this is the last month).

So, how do you prepare for a meeting with your mentor? I leave nothing to chance even if the meeting is virtual and am home (as is sometimes the case like today). I dress up to impress us lol, I review my work and notes, prepare some questions too and do a breathing exercise (one she made on her YouTube channel long before we connected hahahaha). I say a prayer and release my intention for the hour we'll be spending together to Mother Earth and Wind and Love. I really wish everyone could get them a mentor in life and why not be that mentor to someone too. I cherish and appreciate all my mentors, and wish them especially darling MEGHA so so much. Be inspired motivated and encouraged.

Hi Marie,

Aw. What a lovely message for sweet Megha. Your connection is so inspiring. Thanks for sharing your mentoring day ritual with us. It's very special. I'm curious why you have chosen "Mother Earth, wind and love?" Can you clarify why the elements resonate for you for this purpose? Hope you and your family are safe and well and that you have a good weekend.

Dear Jill,

I appreciate your comments always. Thank you. Mother (birth, humanity, nurtue) Earth (what we all live on and feed from) Wind (that gives freshness and blows away our woes while ushering in the new? and Love (the most important and vital energy source and emotion I know). That's why I use them. Thanks for asking me that question which made me share more.
Indeed it's a ritual and it makes the moment very sacred and ready to birth forth that which should be - sort of a manifestation ritual hahahaha

Hello there again:-)

Thank you:-) Lovely. Yes, that makes sense, and sounds like a very powerful invocation to start anything of importance.

You're welcome. You know I'm a deep thinker and always want to know more.

Yes. That's what it sounds like.

Hope you're having a good weekend.

You look so sparkly, Marie :) I like how your meeting with your mentor is prioritized and 'respect', like a business meeting. Because mentorship is business of the soul anyway!

Dear Nini,

You are so spot on. Indeed, I and probably we so look forward to the meeting and actually consider it our "special sister self care time" too.
Soul business indeed it is
I hope you are keeping well
In deep sisterhood and solidarity always

Thank you for sharing. A mentor can share his/her vision and inspire us. He/She can help us to develop and unleash our potentials.
It does not matter to meet your mentor online or in person. It can help. I am glad to hear you have a great mentor and had a meaningful session with your mentor.
May Almighty God bless you both!

Dear Rebecca,

Thank you so much for your comment. Yes yes yes to all you say.
It was not only a meaningful session but a wonderful last call with my mentor since the program ends officially on the 17th.
Thank you for the blessings and all the best to you too

Hi, Marie. It was great to have you and Megha and Kabahenda chat with the World Pulse Board last week. This is great post on mentoring. I have had many valuable and important mentors in my life and you have to respect the role they play.

Dear Beth,

Thank you for your comments always. It was surreal for me and my grandmum should be super proud of her baby girl.
Indeed, all mentors have to be respected and I never take that for granted.
I was recently invited to become a mentor with the Global Mental Health Peer Network and I said yes thanks in large part to the Megha Model hahahahaha

Hello, dear Marie,

It's great to know that you and Megha established a ritual before and during your mentorship meetings. I didn't know she has a YouTube channel. I would like to subscribe. :)

Dear Kaye,

Hahahaha I established the ritual for myself to usher me. I didn't share her YouTube link here but with her name on search in YouTube, you get there.
Thanks once more for all the encouraging
