I am a Puerto Rican journalist and activist who founded Kilómetro Cero, an organization dedicated to fighting state violence, bolstering Police accountability and citizen empowerment in the areas of state use of force, repression of dissent and gender violence. I also write the literary column Será otra cosa in Periódico Claridad along with other female writers. I am also part of the Board of Periódico Claridad and have two personal blogs: 'La malamaña', with some of my short columns at www.marimarinarvaez.blogspot.com and 'Siempre te quieres ir', a travel blog that I write along with my partner, www.parairnos.blogspot.com
I stand against state violence and repression, and defend human life, freedoms and dignity. I believe in equitable power for women.
