When I received the notice of me being selected as an Impact leader

I knew energy was moving. I knew big things were happening at some levels I could not even imagine. But I was willing to let that energy to flow as air and water…when nothing is against it. And as I was in a search, not just being selected but all what was coming was something I had prayed for so many years that even now that I have come again from the forest I know that where there is a will there is a way.

My first days with my beautiful team have been very interesting specially because we all are trying to find out how to obtain the best of this experience for all of us, as it is a new experience where we are going to find out if this is a good way to help woman all over the world to go further with their vision. And INDEED…it is a good way. Because just for the fact that we know someone out there is believing in ourselves, we do not give up our ideas which in countries, for example as mine are like not just crazy ideas but utopic ideas.

My first days with the program have been very confused for me, as my country was in the middle of this internal war which was deciding if people was agree with a peace paper our government has already signed…which for some days do not allow us to think much in anything else, as our mind, body and spirit is connect it with this sense of hope, which was gone by the time people said not to our referendum. Even tough my team may do not know it, just the fact that I was going to meet with them by zoom, was a good thing as I did not want to get up or I could barely do something…and because of them I did my things and woke up and start the site I still can see in my mind.

Weeks go fast and research on how to find out woman who were protecting land led me into different ways. First one was that for more than a year I have been in contact with woman and I had never asked them if they protect. And when I realized of that, I wrote to them and with the ones that do conservation I create a group, which in just one week helped us to know how to manage an specie that is invading our ecosystem, and also to exchange seeds of species we are loosing. Now we are in a whatsapp group 5.

After creating the group I realized of many woman I know that do protect land but do not have any cellular or anything. So, this was challenging. I see them often, so I talked to some of them, and specially one was interested in the idea of being connect it so I proposed to her to go to let her know what to do. The date has not come out but might be soon…maybe next week.

One of the first ideas of empower woman to protect more land close to me has been connect it to the idea that we have to belong to something which can help us to believe we are connect it to something bigger, without paying any more money. And that’s when I decided it to create a platform to connect worldwide protected lands…I belong to the one that connect many private protected lands but not all of them, as some people do not want to pay, or can not pay or even more than that it is not agreed with how this organization works. I have belong to his organization www.resnatur.org.co since 2000 and was president of the board willing to do many changes which were challenging…

So here is when many things happen as part of the energy moves. While thinking on how to connect local to global I decided to quit many things which I could not do anymore. Many of them for some years. First think to let go was María Flores, and leaving that I let go the chamber group I created some years ago. Then I quit being the president of the board of Resnatur, as I could not pay to flight every two months to Bogota, our capital, for our board meetings. Letting go that, I realized I had to let go the Tourist Network I have been belonging to for some years. And then….and only after then I found out how focus I need to be to create this local group and worldwide platform.

This past weeks I created the blog, the logo, and connect them to facebook, twiter, pinterest, Instagram, youtube and I am trying to find out the way to interconnect everything in a free platform where all the information of the private protected lands is getting together and available for all of us, and where local people is going to have their space...

Pat, Ngozy, Manya and Mairi-Jane have played an important role in all this happening…their questions, their desire for me to find a vision had played an invisible role which led me to let go many things which I have been carrying…and which were taking too much time and energy from me…Janice role is great because with life going on I forget to write this story which is ideal to help us all to know how valuable and grateful we have to be for what we do, for who we are…
