The challenges facing women and girls in my community are enormous. Following our studies in every school around Bali subdivision of Cameroon, at least 3 girls drop out of school because of pregnancy annually. During our training seminar with girls abortion was identified as one of the major problems facing girls. This year 2 school girls died because of abortion. Interaction with a women's group proved that pressures from their matrimonial homes make them less concern about giving their children basic sex education as well as spending time with their children and guiding them.

For this reason our organization is planning a 2 days seminar the 23rd to the 24th of May 2016. We plan talking on sexual and reproductive health issues with the girls. Secondly keeping them occupied during the holidays will be good since idleness during the holidays contribute 65% to pregnancy and eventual abortion. We plan to train them on three sustainable activities: poultry farming, market gardening and pastry. We intend to work with 37 girls whom we will give them finance assistance to start off.

Being a young organization, Common Action for Gender Development will be grateful with any kind of material and human resources sisters on this platform can offer.
