A Woman Is Not A Punching Bag

Women live in an insecure world filled with fear.Women continue to endure unprecedented levels of violence leading to consequences including HIV infection,pregnancy and other health related compliications.They suffer psychologial effects and their emotional strength is torn apart.women are deprived of their ability to achieve their full potental by threatening their safety,freedom and autonomy.Gender-Based Violence infringes upon the rights of women and diminishes their abilities to protect themselves against HIV/AIDS.Lack of economic resources also underpins women's vulnerability to violence.Cultural ideologies also provide legitimacy for violence against women in certain cirumstances. Not only are the bodies of women destroyed by violence but also the social fabric of the communities were these women come from.Women must say NO to Gender-Based Violence,it is high time that women stand up and realise their full potential.Strong investigative and disciplinary mechanisms must be put in place for those who commit Gender-Based violence.
