Reinforce Gender Socialization from the grassroots level....!!!!

Acquiring an opportunity to study is a privilege towards mounting your frame of mind. I had a chance to participate both in Workers’ College and in InWent International Leadership Training in Germany – ENGAGE which unlocked my eyes and enhanced my knowledge regarding labour and economic matters furthermore through empowering our academic level and strategic plan as activists from developing countries to be able to handle socio-economic status.

I would like to focus my research on reinforcement of gender equalities and combating racism and racial discrimination globally. The question is how governments, organizations and trade unions can on average reinforce gender socialization from the grassroots level? It is acknowledged that workplace inequality has been a burning issue in all nations globally. For an example in South Africa particularly women and disabled people still find themselves as target groups and they are virtually invisible. They are victims of inequalities, both socially and economically, because they occupy subordinates positions in comparison to men (Agent groups) on almost every dimension of socio-economic statuses such as education, occupation and income. According to United Nation Women (UNW)’ objective that; gender equality is a fundamental human right and essential condition for achieving democracy worldwide and Africa needs strong academic women to strengthen the immature democratic states. I believe that acquiring labour and economic qualifications is the key to unlock all influential seats for women.

My past and current responsibilities in National African Federated Chamber of Commerce (NAFCOC) leadership since its establishment in 1964 supported the argument that women are occupying subordinates positions in comparison to men. When we track NAFCOC’ historic Presidents from 1964 – 2004 it clearly indicate that men occupied the presidency for four decades.
