My (our!) dreams

Today in Milan there is a big Women's Day celebration. A very very close friend of mine was there (and I'm waiting her photos).

I had works to do, and did not take part (with some regret). But, I and a friend-colleague spoke at length about dreams for the future, while things are apparently shifting backwards, towards the past.

So they're not strictly "my" dreams: are "our", as very often happens among us gals. It's a heartwarming feeling, knowing your dreams are not just "yours", but a bit shared... At least, we're not slave of originality. :)

And so...

We wish a World of real gender equal opportunity, and equal respect.

A World, which does not limit itself taking some benefit from the unpaid work of so many, and saying nothing, as it it is all due.

A community of communities. With community building given equal prestige than community-slicing as too often happens today.

We wish a World in which everyone, really, whichever their gender, skin aspect, political ideas, worldview, can live in peace and thrive. Because there is too much work to do, waiting for us in the very next future, without of which our species might fail to survive. Climate change consequences, to mention a dire one. It's too late to stop the changes we've triggered, but we can do so much to develop resilience. But for this to happen, vast, systematic and long-term efforts will be needed - just the opposite out politicians are doing now. Our suspect, let's say, is women are usually called in when things have come really bad, some massive cleaning-out is desperately needed, and chances are high no one will reward you after you've done. But, we know of this. And we can brave the way.

We wish a World, which is definitely less violent. In which lives are valued, and not construed as threats. In which diversity is seen as an enrichment, not a cause of pain, or fear. A World, in which people listen to each others, and enjoy to see these others' stories are also human, important, unique, and meantime not dissimilar to our own's.

A World, in which we'll continue to dream of dreaming, stonier and stronger, braver and braver.

Thank you, for sharing and appreciating this dream.

As time goes on, more and more I feel it is not only a dream, but, a necessity. In order for this World to survive, and us humans with it.
