Hi ladies , i want to share with u all about pcos , today 1 out of 10 womens are facing this issue . What is this actually,

PCOS (POLYCYSTIC OVARIAN SYNDROME)

Pcos is a hormonal disorder common among women of reproductive age . Women with pcos may have prolonged menstrual periods or excess male hormones (androgen) levels. The ovaries may develop numerous small collection of fluids (follicles) and fail to regularly release eggs . Pcos can affect  a women's menstrual cycle,  fertility,  cardiac function and appearance.

*It can cause type 2 diabetes .

*It causes depression and mood swings .

*Womens have high bp issues and high cholesterol levels.

*Most commonly sleep apnea is also a risk factor of Pcos .

What diet womens should have in Pcos ?

 * High fiber diet may benefits to women with Pcos , such as lowers the insulin levels and antioxidants which fights to lower inflammation.

Example,

Seeds (chia , flax , sunflower seeds )

Legumes (black beans , lentils , chick peas)

Berries

Whole grains

*women's should eat lean protein like include 2-3 servings if fish per week , or have a chicken (grilled or steamed) , and plant based sources of protein.

*Eat antioxidants heavy foods like fruits , vegetables,  whole grains and unsaturated fats.

*DASH diet is also good for Pcos women's.

It includes all fruits and vegetables.

Whole grains like whole wheat and brown rice .

Poultry and fish .

Legumes like peanuts,  chickpeas and peas Nuts and seeds .

You should avoid the followings,

Refined carbohydrates like white bread , pizza , fast foods etc .

Beverages

Sugary processed foods

And alcohol.

After the introduction to Pcos i may tell u the best way to treat it ,

SEED CYCLING

In this seed cycling we eat seeds for 30 days ,start this cycle on the first day of your periods , like 2 cycles of 15 , 15 days . This method helps alot in removing that follicles.

First 15 days eat these seeds :

Flax seed          1 1/2 tbsp

Black seed          1/2tsp

Pumpkin seed  1 1/2 tbsp

Then the 2nd cycle of 15 days :

 Sesame seeds      1 1/2 tbsp

Fenugreek seeds    1/2 tsp

Sunflower seeds   1 1/2 tbsp

Pcos is increasing in womens and its a big stress , so by proper diet and excercises we can treat it .

Hello, Mawra,

Thank you for this informative yet easy-to-read post about PCOS. It is heartbreaking for women to be diagnosed with it due the challenges they face. Some couldn’t conceive because of it, while some have miscarriage. Thank you for raising awareness on PCOS. Do you know anyone with it? I have friends who do.

Please stay safe and stay healthy!
