I PLEDGE FOR WOMEN EDUCATION

Feel free to call me Myriam,i am a young congolese women.Since i was 6 i had the chance of being educate by my parents who are also intellectuals.I started with primary school then i studied pedagogics at secondary school because i liked very much to teach late i went for university and studied translation and interpretation. At the end of my studies i went to Makerere University for a professional training in English language. One day while working for Orange compagny Neema, the founder of Safeco and Maman Shujaa Media Center told me about the World Pulse platform and i decided to connect myself to it .Thanks to Maman Shujaa i knew an organisation named ACA(anglo congolese alliance)that strives for the promotion of the English language.Besides,i am also a member of Yali network (young african leadership)launched in 2010 by president Barack Obama. In 2015 four friends of mine and myself got financed and trained more than 20 women at Acoldemha which is one of organisations that constitute Safeco,at the end 13 got their certificates.I believe that English is helping them in their daily activities.Apart from this activity conducted for grow up,we conceived and sent a project proposal on an English competition of Bukavu high schools senior at the USA Embassy Kinshasa.Fortunately we got a positive answer on April 2016.We launched the competition on 13th April and pupils played the final match on 8th June 2016. This competition had eight different activities namely debate, general knowledge, words arrangement, vocabulary, spelling, activate games and performance.I am delighted because among the three students who were rewarded by phones at the final there was two girls.Women are hard workers and determined in whatever they do.I hereby encourage parents and our community to praise the children in general and girls in particular when they have good marks at school.Don't only tell your boy well done you will be the president of this country one day and when it comes about your daughter you simply keep quiet.

I trust in every little girl, let praise girls and send them to school.

Thanks
