My Journey; Empower women through business and financial education

I am from a veryblessed, loving middle class familyfrom Guatemala City. When I was 5 years old, my father had a stroke at 32 years old... he and my momhad to travel to the United States for a open chess operation because the lack of equipment and doctors in Guatemala.

My mother struggled with money for his operation, butfriends and family helped in, leaving me a great respect for our community. As soon as he got better, he returned to his work in a mechanical workshop. He was just getting back on his feet, when two years laterfound out he hadcancer. It was a Shock! Doctors gave him two months of life.

No health insurance, no money, no treatment in our country. Again family and friends helped. As a miracle, he lived, but he was very weak and did not work for some years.

My mother started baking cakes to gain some money. She was so good, she started selling cakes for big events. Some years later, she became an entrepreneur. My grandparent helped her an my aunt with moneyto startup a baking shop "Spoon", with the best cakes in town.

I was so inspired by my mother, Manet Jop.Since a little girl I saw how she struggled to supported us.Also she taught me how to be independent, strong and hardworking woman. I spent all my vacations as a kid an teenager working in the bakery (washing dishes, waitress, cashier, baking, manager, etc). I was happy helping my family and alsolearning how to be economically independent. Thanks to her, I became a passionate entrepreneur.

Years later I lost a very dear friend from highschool, Cristina Siekavizza. She was supposedlymurdered by her husband, son of a former president of the Judicial System in Guatemala. It is a high impact case in Guatemala, not resolved yet. I always felt sorry Idid not notice something was wrong, and that I didn'tdo anything for her. Women depend economically of man; sometimes they even stay with an abusive partner just because they can’t afford to leave.

My vision is creating entrepreneurial opportunities for women, providing them with marketing skills and financial education,so they can startup and promote their own small business. Give them tools, knowledge or guidance so they can provide for their families, and also be leaders in their communities.

I facilitate workshops for entrepreneurial women, providing them skills and knowledge to develop their startups.

Last year I participated withPoderosas(“Powerfull women”), in an eventcalled "Trascendence" were 20 certified coachs coached10 groups of 10 women, for 10 sessions (life coaching). The results were amazing! Due to this success, now Poderosas are sharing valuable coaching content, through their social media and I am honored to be featured inAugust 2017, with a free –one-month - coaching videos and tips for creating financial freedom.

I want to expand my vision though digital media, but I have been stuggling withsetting up the virtual class, because right now I only coach in site. Also financialaid, so we could have freescholarships.

My dream is that every woman with a smartphone and Internet connection can take entrepreneurial coaching and learn how to be successful in their startups and small business.
